CTAM Recognizes John Billock as 2002 Grand TAM Award Winner

(Alexandria, VA – May 15, 2002) CTAM (Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing) announces the recipient of the Grand TAM Award, John K. Billock, Vice Chairman and COO of Time Warner Cable. He will be honored during a special keynote presentation at The CTAM Summit, July 14-17, 2002 in Boston, MA at the Hynes Convention Center.

The Grand TAM Award is CTAM’s highest honor, presented annually to a distinguished, industry marketing leader. This award recognizes the time, talent and commitment John Billock has devoted to ensure the future of the industry through marketing, education and leadership. A marketer's marketer, Billock always pushed the envelope at HBO. Now he's poised to implement his vision at one of the most highly advanced MSOs, as cable moves well beyond traditional video services. These are just two reasons that CTAM will honor Billock with the Grand TAM.

“The CTAM Board of Directors recognizes Billock for his tremendous marketing prowess,” said Char Beales, President and CEO of CTAM. “With more than 20 years in the cable business, he has been a major industry contributor, is a great friend to CTAM and serves on our Educational Foundation Board of Directors. I can't think of a more deserving honoree than John,” Beales continued.

Billock was named Vice Chairman and COO of Time Warner Cable in October 2001. The company’s President reports to Billock, as do the areas of Corporate Development, Marketing, Advertising Sales, Corporate Affairs and Local Programming. Prior to joining the cable company, he was President, US Network Group for Home Box Office since January 1997, when Billock was responsible for affiliate sales and operations, consumer marketing, market planning, satellite services, program planning, research, technology operations, interactive ventures, and the day-to-day management of the HBO and Cinemax networks. Billock joined Home Box Office in June 1978.
