Media Visionaries Explore Advertising and Marketing
in a Changing Digital World at The CTAM Summit

(Alexandria, VA – June 10, 2002) As part of CTAM’s ongoing commitment to focus on the future of marketing, CTAM (Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing) announces the scheduling of the general session panel, Advertising & Marketing in a Changing Digital World, during The CTAM Summit, July 14-17, 2002 in Boston, MA at the Hynes Convention Center.

This general session will provide Summit participants with an in-depth look at how new technologies – personal video recorders, digital programming, video-on-demand, subscription-video-on-demand, etc. – are changing consumer behavior and hence company business models and marketers’ ability to compete, sell more services, establish new shows, cross promote and succeed.

The moderator of Advertising & Marketing in a Changing Digital World is Josh Bernoff, Principal Analyst, Television & Entertainment, Forrester Research. The panelists are:

  • David G. Barford, Executive Vice President & COO, Charter Communications

  • Ken Potashner, Chairman, CEO & President, SONICblue

  • Josh Sapan, President & CEO, Rainbow Media Holdings, Inc.

  • Rishad Tobaccowala, President, Starcom MediaVest Group I.P.

  • Susan D. Whiting, President and CEO, Nielsen Media Research
“Attendees of this panel will leave with a clear understanding of the threats and opportunities for marketing in a world in which digital cable, PVRs, and VOD are far more prevalent than they are now,” said Bernoff. “The panelists will examine how both TV commercials and marketing messages will change and how networks and cable services will be marketed.”
