George Neill is corporate vice president of global marketing for Motorola, Inc. Mr. Neill is responsible for overseeing Motorola’s global communications initiatives including: Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Sponsorship, Entertainment, Events and Trade Shows and Agency Management.
Mr. Neill most recently ran worldwide marketing communications for Apple Computer, where he was responsible for advertising; Web, direct and buzz marketing; retail marketing; collateral; and packaging. He partnered to produce co-branding campaigns with Pepsi, Volkswagen and BMW, and was responsible for the popular iPod “Silhouettes” campaign, as well as Apple’s famous “Switchers” campaigns.
Before working at Apple, Mr. Neill was a senior partner and global account director at Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide. He focused on promoting Ford Motor Company’s Jaguar and Aston Martin car lines, and he directed the launch of the Jaguar S-Type.
Prior to that, Mr. Neill worked at BMW of North America, where he was a brand manager and consumer communications manager. During that time he was responsible for product launches for all of BMW’s car lines. He managed co-branding campaigns, including the BMW Z3’s appearance in the “GoldenEye” James Bond film and BMW’s 1996 Olympic Games sponsorship.
Mr. Neill started his career in marketing working on packaged goods advertising for Neutrogena products.
Mr. Neill holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Trinity College in Connecticut.
