Mary Bourne-Marth,
CTAM Texas past
president had so much fun at CTAM U. and subsequent sessions at past
Summits that she agreed to teach a weekend class for the Rice University
Jones Graduate School of Business. Mary’s role is to guide and
direct 7 teams of MBA students for Professional and Executive MBAs while
facilitating their interaction with a real case study presented by a
real not for profit organization in Houston, ”The Collaborative for
Children,” which provides early childhood education services to the
community. It is an “Apprentice” style exercise with a prize
presented to the best team – the Owl Cup. The other teams won’t
get fired, but will be given a grade and they must pass the course to
graduate!
This has been challenging and exhilarating for Mary, while at the same
time having the side benefit of introducing new ways to strategically
approach the challenges that her own company and the industry are facing
today. She loves it.
