CTAM Texas - Meet the 2010 CTAM Texas Board Informal Mixer
This year, instead of having a formal holiday party, CTAM Texas will make a $1,000 donation to the CTAM Texas Scholarship Fund. Members will still be able to network, meet the 2010 Board of Directors and enjoy a complimentary beverage on Thursday, November 12 from 5:30 – 6:30 pm at an informal mixer at Reata, located at 310 Houston Street, Fort Worth, TX 76102.

CTAM Florida and Greater Florida WICT will co-host a holiday party on Thursday, December 3, in Orlando, FL.

CTAM West – The Cable Apprentice
Come see MBA candidates from LMU, UCLA and USC compete to solve a realistic cable industry case study for a cash prize of $3,000, and connect with friends and colleagues for an evening of holiday cheer. The event will be held at the Marriott Manhattan Beach, located at 1400 Parkview Avenue, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266. Registration and a cocktail hour will begin at 4:30 pm, followed by the case study competition at 5:30 pm.

CTAM New York - Holiday Gala

The CTAM New York annual holiday party will be held at Metrazur in Grand Central Terminal and will benefit the Ronald McDonald House. Guests are encouraged to bring a book or other items as requested by the Ronald McDonald House.

CHAPTER NEWS

CTAM Europe held the sixth annual EuroSummit in Lisbon, Portugal. The event was attended by 250 industry professionals from 20 countries and 70 different companies from across Europe and North America. High caliber speakers, informative and relevant content, and a great location provided the framework for this year’s event. A key highlight was the Creative Awards Program (CAP), an exclusive competition for CTAM Europe members, which recognizes outstanding achievement and creative excellence in European cable marketing. A complete list of winners is now available.

CTAM Washington-Baltimore hosted a panel discussion Keeping Customers Sticky in an Unglued Economy. More than 50 attendees convened at Discovery Communications, where panelists explored customer retention strategies. 

CTAM New York hosted How Cable Goes to Market at the Time Warner Center in midtown Manhattan. More than 25 attendees learned about the history of the cable industry, recent trends, technologies and competitive strategies.  

CTAM Caribbean’s fifth annual Sun, Sand and CTAM was held in San Juan, Puerto Rico for more than 30 attendees. A panel of executives from Caribbean cable companies discussed advanced services and strategies they’ve employed to remain competitive. Dana Fragnoli-Piteo, CTAM’s Research Manager presented the research study “Life Stages & Life Styles: Turning Generational Differences into Media Opportunities” to the group.  

CTAM Greater Philadelphia hosted "Radar On-Antenna Up" Fulfilling Customers’ Unexpressed Wishes at the Comcast Center. The event led by Jeff Hargett of The Ritz Carlton Leadership Institute, focused on customer care, concentrating on how to drive your brand and take the customer service experience to the next level to get better bottom line results. There were 45 in attendance.

Midland Park, NJ (I have lived in NJ all of my life)

What is your favorite TV show?
“Entourage”

What is your favorite vacation spot?
Miami (South Beach), FL

Do you have any hidden talents?
Gardening, I am an avid gardener.

What is your favorite CTAM moment?
When members of CTAM New York volunteered for New York Cares Day and helped paint a classroom at the Institute for Collaborative Education in downtown NYC. It was also one of my proudest moments as chapter president.

Meet Maria Rothschild, President, CTAM Rocky Mountains. Here are five fun facts about Maria to help you get to know her better:

What is your favorite TV show?
I like anything with a makeover in it, such as “The Biggest Loser,” “What Not to Wear” or “Extreme Home Makeover.” I love to see change and improvement.

Do you have any hidden talents?
I love to cook. I’m not half bad, but I don’t use recipes, so I never bake.

Which decade or era best suits your personality?
The 1940s, I love the movies and the fashion. The era depicts the beginning of the strong woman figure, independent, capable and willing to do whatever it takes.

What is a fun fact that not many people know about you?
I have never seen “The Sound of Music,” and I intend to keep it that way.

What’s your favorite CTAM moment?
Winning this year’s Chapter Educator award, we set that as a goal for our chapter a year ago and really focused on letting our members know we were committed to education.

Char BealesCTAM is proud of its very own Char Beales, who was inducted into the 2009 Cable Center’s Cable Hall of Fame. The honorees were chosen based on their leadership, dedication and impact on the cable industry and their communities. The awards were presented during the Hall of Fame ceremony during the Cable Connection – Fall.
