Robert Miron to be Honored with CTAM
Grand TAM Award
(Alexandria, VA – September
21, 2009) Robert Miron, Chairman, Advance/Newhouse
Communications, has been chosen by the CTAM Board
of Directors as the recipient of the 2009 Grand TAM award.
The Grand TAM is CTAM’s highest honor and is given in
recognition of the time, talent and commitment made to
ensure the future of the industry through marketing,
education and leadership.
“Bob Miron has been a
long-time champion of collaboration between companies
through industry associations, including CTAM. He is a
marketing and management innovator, and was one of the first
to deliver the Dan Aaron Lecture on Innovative Management at
CTAM U.,” said Sean Bratches, Executive Vice
President, Sales and Marketing, ESPN, Inc, and Chair,
CTAM Board of Directors.
Early on, Mr. Miron knew the
value of content and upon his recommendation
Advance/Newhouse invested in the fledgling Discovery
Channel, now a proven success story. He fostered
national achievement while engaging the local foundation
upon which cable was built at Advance/Newhouse’s MSO, which
went to market under the brands Vision Cable,
NewChannels Cable and Metrovision. As chairman of
the NCTA and co-chair of the industry’s original
customer service committee, he championed an industry-wide
focus on providing excellent customer service. His
customer-centric philosophy has proven successful as it
continues to enable the company to strengthen and grow in an
increasingly competitive environment. Today the course he
charted is led by his children Steve Miron and
Nomi Bergman as Bright House Networks once again
has been recognized by JD Power for superior service.
Mr. Miron is not only being
honored for his support of marketing excellence within his
own company and CTAM, but for his work across the industry.
He’s a strong voice in the policy debates at the NCTA, in
technology decisions at CableLabs, and in guiding the
incomparable C-SPAN network.
Mr. Miron will be honored at
The CTAM Summit,
which will be held in Denver, October 25 – 27, 2009. For
