CTAM and CableLabs Team Up to Address
ITV and 3D TV
(Alexandria, VA –
October 13, 2009) In the spirit of collaboration and to help
bridge the gap between marketing and technology,
CableLabs®, the cable industry’s technology development
consortium, is producing two sessions to take place at The
CTAM Summit in Denver.
On Monday, October 26, "Less Talk and More Interaction" will
showcase a series of interactive applications, such as
advanced advertising and cross-platform solutions, and cover
the key differences in the ITV platforms.
Don Dulchinos, SVP, Advanced Platforms & Services,
CableLabs, will moderate a panel that includes:
-
James Mumma,
Senior Director, Video Product Development, Comcast
-
David Preisman,
Vice President, Interactive Television, Showtime
Networks, Inc.
-
Steve Tranter,
Vice President, Broadband and Interactive, NDS
On Tuesday, October 27, "3D
Television: Entering the Third Dimension, Ready or Not?,"
will look at the evolution of the home entertainment
experience, and what is new about this next generation media
platform.
Summit attendees will hear from author, 3D film producer, 3D
comic book creator and award-winning artist Ray Zone. Since
1983, he has created stereo conversions and stereoscopic
images for a variety of clients in television, advertising,
motion pictures, publishing and education. His clients have
included National Geographic, Warner Brothers
and Walt Disney Company.
Zone will share his expertise on what it takes to make 3D a
desirable experience in the home, what type of content makes
the most sense, and the marketing challenges involved in
delivering 3D content. Demonstrations in 3D, complete with
3D glasses, will be used during this session to illustrate
examples. David Broberg, VP, Consumer Video
Technology, CableLabs, will lead the discussion.
