Consumer APPetites are increasing along with the explosion of devices that support apps. An average of 300 apps per second** are being downloaded through the two leading platforms (Apple & Android).

Exploration of cross-platform APP usage on Smartphones, tablets and Internet-connected TVs and devices (game console, Blu-Ray players). The study provides a 360 degree view of APP related attitudes and behaviors and includes:

  • Analysis of On Device Metered data;
  • Investigation of syndicated data from The Connected Device and Mobile APP Playbook studies;
  • A comprehensive re-contact study among current video APP users; and
  • Qualitative investigation of consumer reactions to sync-to-broadcast Media-sync experiences.

 

This study will reveal:

  • App usage and appeal, to understand the drivers;
  • Situational or environmental context and how users are searching for apps;
  • The acquisition funnel – awareness, engagement, loyalty, as well as which apps are considered least appealing;
  • The effect on the overall engagement to TV or program related content; and
  • Consumer reaction to “second screen” apps that can be used while watching live TV.
