John Lansing to Depart CTAM after Two-Year Success Story

Lansing Will Head Broadcasting Board of Governors

(August 17, 2015, National Harbor, MD)  John Lansing, president and CEO of CTAM, announced today that he will depart CTAM this fall to become CEO of the Broadcasting Board of Governors, an independent federal government agency that oversees all U.S. civilian international news broadcasting, headquartered in Washington, D.C.  Lansing succeeded Char Beales upon her retirement in 2013, having served as president of the Scripps Networks operating division for nine years.
“The combination of John’s cable programming experience and business savvy was an excellent fit for CTAM.  He learned the MSO part of the cable industry value chain and balanced the needs of all parties,” said Mark Greatrex, EVP, chief marketing and sales officer, Cox Communications, and chair of the CTAM Board of Directors. “The CTAM leadership is grateful for his deep commitment to keeping the organization focused and relevant in the midst of ongoing industry change and disruption.”

Lansing is highly regarded for garnering industry-wide support of the critical TV EverywhereSM initiative, ensuring the continued success of CableMover® and Business Services programs, and strengthening the value of CTAM for its content provider members.  He also serves on the CTAM Board of Directors, CTAM MSO Marketing Co-op Board, and CTAM Educational Foundation Board.

The Executive Committee of the CTAM Board of Directors has authorized Howard Fischer Associates to begin the search for Lansing’s successor immediately.  Anne Cowan has been selected to serve as acting CEO in the interim.  She’s been a member of the CTAM senior executive team for more than 16 years.
