CTAM Think

Successful companies excel when consumers are positioned at the center of all business decision-making.

Key Take-Aways:

  • Evolving from “Content is King” to “Live Video Rules”
Consumers are demanding more interesting and exciting content and value when it’s live. Marketers try to follow suit, providing snaps of digital content from YouTube to Facebook to engage viewers in “anything-can-happen” events that bring their brands to life.

  • Mobile device use can be mined by marketers in new ways for smarter targeting of consumers.
Monetizing mobile is available today to brands that use the data available to predict response and behaviors.  As consumers increasingly ignore advertising and marketing, a brand optimizes its chance to breakthrough with mobile’s efficient targeting and with relevant messages.

  • Hyper-personalization is desired and required.
As we look at the changing dynamic of the next generation of viewers and consumers, young people’s attention span is not only diminishing, but requiring marketers to reach them in short, no-word communication (e.g. emojis). Giving this generation of “creators” the opportunity to have a hand in the design and development of your brand will capture their attention and participation, generating more loyalty among this young consumer group.

Flexing the value of the bundle amidst a regulatory mandate requiring a-la-carte programming packages. Referred to as Pick-and-Pay, the order was put into active law in March, and we'll examine how the Canadian market is reacting to the new options, the "skinny" effect on existing packages, the operational complexities, and the impact of "subscriber melt" on niche channels.
